I want to thank all the many individuals whose presence and participation made the Filibuster for Independence a success, and whose hard work made the occasion possible. I know that everybody who participated felt the power, as we reclaimed the fighting spirits of our forebears and declared our independence from corruption, cronyism, corporate government, and Bushite tyranny.
As I speak these words, it is the morning of March 7, 2006. The polls are open for voting in the Primaries. Democratic and Republican voters are choosing their nominees for the General Election.
This year's statewide Democratic ticket is going to conduct the most dynamic, unified campaign that Texas voters have seen from the Democratic Party in many years. The potential nominees are all on the same page in our insistence on cleaning up government, fighting on the people's behalf to wipe away the corruption, cronyism, and anti-Constitutionalism that Radical Republican rule have inflicted on the people. We'll be meeting as a unified ticket soon after the Primary to coordinate our plans to wrest Texas away from the lobbyists, influence peddlers, and power brokers who've stolen it, and give it back to its rightful owners, the people.
And for myself in particular, I'll see you at the next Filibuster. Fight 'em till hell freezes over, then fight 'em on the ice!
