So Now We Know

So now we know. So now we have it, the red-handed proof that George W. Bush was specifically informed before Hurricane Katrina hit that massive calamity was about to happen. So now we know that while Bush and Michael Chertoff were jetting around the hoity-toity circuit in the first days, they knew what was probably happening to the residents of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America. Now we know that George Bush was specifically told the levees were likely to break, and we know that he lied through his teeth when he told the country afterward that he hadn't anticipated the levees breaking.

To know what was coming and to consciously ignore it was to commit a brutal act of violence against the masses of human beings in the path of the storm -- an unparalleled act of violence by an American president against his own people.

Is there any further proof needed that our country is in the hands of gangsters who are running our government for the sole purpose of private enrichment and amusement, gangsters who consciously allowed the most savage violence of nature to smash American homes and drown American citizens?

We are living through a reign of terror, and every public representative of the people is morally obligated to raise a cry to the highest hills on the people's behalf to put an end to this reign of terror.

The Attorney General of Texas, Bushite Republican Greg Abbott, who was elected to represent the people of Texas, is no exception. Abbott never has any qualms about speaking out on issues that he cares about -- as demonstrated recently by his vigorous campaigning in favor of Proposition 2 to enshrine second-class citizenship in the Texas Bill of Rights. When will Greg Abbott and the other Bushite Republican state officeholders of Texas cut the bonds to their gangster patrons of the Rove-Bush machine, and raise their voices against the corruption that is eating at the heart of our noble Constitutional democracy? What about it, Greg? What about it, Slick Rick?

We the people can't afford to wait around for them; we have to take matters into our own hands and speak up for ourselves. Just as 170 years ago today, on March 2, 1836, our Texian and Tejano forebears declared their independence from the dictatorship of the usurper Santa Anna, we declare our independence from your cronyism, your corruption, and your tyranny. If you care to come talk to us, we'll see you at our Filibuster for Independence at the State Capitol grounds, 6:00 p.m. March 3 to 6:00 p.m. March 4. And we're not going to ask your permission to talk to each other on the people's property.
